Lost a showdown

Took a while since the Ace versus trip sevens incident but I lost a show down. It occurred to me earlier that I have been winning almost all of them. I had AJos. Flop came King high, checked around. Ace on the turn and I go 20 for a potish sized bet. Check/call from Seat 9. River is an os 9 and I think I'm home free. I'm ready to value it and instead he throws out another 20. I feel I am beat but pay off his gutshot straight that hit. Yuck. At least I priced him out on the turn. Maybe should have laid down.

Aces again. Raise to 15 with one caller. Flop comes Queen high and I lead 25. No struggle.

Guy at our table hit an 8 high Spade Straight Flush and the table got to watch the payout ceremony. 300 and change.
